We've had four Boxers three male and one female - they are the best!
My current one is a female and is six y/o. She has been great with my two boys (12 & 14 now) and three cats. Believe it or not female Boxers are definitely smarter than males!
They are very rambunctious when they are pups, but then mellow out a little when they grow up. Hardly any shedding, they do need to be well trained - over and over - but their personalities are wonderful. Everybody who sees them just smiles, even total strangers.
