I found her a home. A friend of a friend's mother. I feel like a POS, but I believe it will be a good home and she'll be well taken care of.

Great news! I know it would kill me if I had to find a new home for Apollo, so When I rehomed my cats, it was very upsetting. But it sounds like you found your baby a good home and I'm sure she will adjust and be fine.

I think she will. Now I'm worrying about her wondering where I am. I always imagine the worst but with all the dogs I've adopted over the years, I do know they adjust pretty quickly. The pom I adopted (from somd.com) in 2000 took over the first day I brought him home. Lived to be a ripe old 17 years old. It's nice to know people understand my position.
