Help the poor poor Katrina victims

Remember when everyone was screaming that FEMA wasn't moving fast enough to help these poor people? So then the rushed down and started throwing debit cards into the crowd like Mardi Gras beads?

Well it looks like our tax dollars paid for a sex change operation, divorces, Hawaiian vacations, Girls Gone Wild videos, Saints season tickets, and Dom Perignon champagne (to toast how they stooged the government no doubt).

$1.4B dollars of generosity and compassion and these freaking losers took a big old dump on the country. THESE are the people the liberals champion. The poor, the dumb, the underprivileged, the helpless.

I hope they hire 10,000 investigators and pursue this to the last effing nickel. Those that screwed the taxpayers will get housing all right, in a federal penitentiary.

In my mind, there are only a few people more lowlife than one who would screw someone who was generous to them.

As a matter of fact, I changed my mind. I don't want them in prison, I want them horse whipped on Bourbon street in front of everyone who really suffered and did the right thing.

You'd think Bush would learn that throwing money at social problems doesn't work. Every time he's tried it, it's backfired.

This is what happens when people freak and have knee jerk reaction to bad press.

Press: :jameo: Poor people :jameo: Government not helping :jameo: Bush hates black people :jameo:

FEMA: Mr President, we are working to fix things but it will take time.

W: Damn it Brown, fix this! Do whatever it takes!

FEMA: How about we give them all a bunch of money, yea thats the ticket.

With the war, I think Bush shows good leadership skills. When it comes to the Leftist media and screaming Democrats, he's a panderer and it's annoying.

I think he is too emotional. He sees the news and the "victim spin" and he truly feels bad.

Clinton on the other hand was a cold bastard who was gifted at faking it. "I feel your pain"

:yeahthat: But the liberals won't let that happen either. Wait and see.

No, what the liberals will do it slam the Bush administration for screwing this up and not the criminals who abused generosity.

I think a cold bastard makes a better leader than an emotional empathizer like Bush. But Clinton tossed money at crap, too, pretending he cared about the people when all he really cared about was good press and approval ratings.

George Patton would have made a great president

up to $1.4 billion — perhaps as much as 16 percent of the billions of dollars in assistance expended after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita — was spent for bogus reasons.
Somehow, it just doesn't surprise me. Disasters bring out the best AND worst in people. Any time you have "free" money being doled out the scammers and thieves come crawling out of the woodwork like cockroaches. Now how much MORE time, effort and funding is going to be used to prosecute these people and try to recoup some of the money?

Was each person granted the same amount or was it dependent upon how harsh their living situation was?

They're all still in the news every night in Houston, whining about thier poor pitiful situation. Meanwhile gang violence has increased in the city.

What's WORSE is, it always seems like when he DOES throw money at the problem, it's largely because of whining from across the aisle - so he does it to show he's a standup sort of bi-partisan kind of guy.

And when it doesn't work - as it never does - they blame him for doing what they wanted him to do in the first place.

A case of "no good deed goes unpunished".

But also a good case of "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me". He's been fooled way too many times.

"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

Who said that?

Agreed. If we wanted Democrat agendas and policies, we'd have voted a Democrat into the White House. Bush doesn't seem to understand that.
