It takes time to spread over their body. Also, if you got most of it on the fur opposed to the skin it won't be as effective. After the Frontline is disbursed across the skin, fleas should die within a certain amount of time; it's nowhere near 48 hours though. It's not a repellent at all.

It will take some time for them to disappear. You can get a Capstar pill from your vet that will kill the ones on the dog almost instantly. You probably should treat your house as well since the fleas spend relatively little time on the dog.

Capstar will kill them all right away and then the frontline will keep them off.:howdy:

My dogs never had a flea problem until I bought home some straw from Southern States-seems the area the straw is kept is over-run w/feral cats. Took me 2 mos. to rid the dogs and all areas of them pesky critters. It's 70+ degree's today-prime flea and sketter wx.. :jameo:

I'm not sure what everyone else had in mind, but I would bomb my house. It's a PITA because unless you remove or bag your kitchen up, you have to wash everything. But you won't have fleas anymore as long as your dog is flea free. Make sure you read the directions on the can! And use appropriately!

You have to be careful with Frontline and similar products in that you are not inadvertently washing them off...

If you bathe a dog after applying frontline for the month, you can only use very low chemical shampoos, or you are washing off the expensive protection that you applied...

You can verify this with a phone call to them...
