I've sent back the complete original mailing before in the return envelope. IDK if it was ever noticed, but I found satisfaction in doing it.
I used to do that and add fine sand. A lot of those places use automatic slitters and the sand gums up the works.
After the anthrax and ricin mailings, that may not be the best idea.
We used to fill out the "free magazine subscription" forms and send them back in. We filled them out for friends and colleagues though..not ourselves.. ;-0
Don't forget the postcards for military recruiters!
Mostly I did that for returning unwanted evangelical solicitations.
