My 8 yr old daughter has been invited to go to Hershey Park this summer, for a week with her friend. We have never been before, so I was wondering if you have any advice, on what I should pack for her, for the week? Besides the obvious, please lol.

Does she have a "fanny pack" or something similar?
That's the only thing I can think of.
Don't forget to write a medical permission slip for them.

Ask the parents she's going with if there's something specific she should bring.

Its a lot of asphalt, loads of rollercoasters, and some water rides. Shoes you don't mind getting wet and clothes that dry easily. That's it really. It will be hot.

I assume that her tickets/food will be paid for, right? Each of the daughters were allowed to invite a friend to bring along on the trip. My girls have never done anything like this before, without me, so I would assume that since she was invited, things like that will be paid for?? I dont know.

How much money should I send her with? I dont want to go broke, but I dont want to sound cheap, lmao.

I would confirm with the parents that she would only need souvenier money. Nothing is cheap anymore so about $50 should do it.

You better double check that just to be sure.

I would think somewhere between 30-50 for food & drinks in the park and spending each day would be a good amount. I would also meet w/ the parents before the trip and give them $$$ for her meals out of the park incase they go to a nice restaurant etc...

Are they going to the park everyday?
Where are they staying, are they in an RV?

Ask the parents, "how much money should I send with her?"
Then add about $50-100 depending on their schedule.

My gf, her brother and I went to Hershey Chocolate World about 2 months ago, I am 22, he is 26, and she is 20. We were only up there for about 3 hours, and spent over $300 worth of chocolate......... So I'm assuming since your daughter is only 8 I believe you said, I know you wont be giving her alot, but some rides there do give out free candy at the end of the rides. May I make a suggestion have your daughter pick up some Hershey Bliss, its very very Milk Chocolaty!!!!!!

From what I've heard so far, they are staying inside the park? I think its called the Hershey Hotel. Mom has said that they are not going to the park everyday, she wants to make sure they see other things in PA, while they are there.

Well...she's gone!(

My little one left today, for a week. Of course my older daughter (as soon as the younger one pulled out of the driveway) turned to me and said" Should we bake a cake to celebrate"? :yahoo:

I ended up sending her with $150. The mom didnt want to take it, and said that they would buy her anything she wanted...but I made her take it anyway.

:yay: I would never assume the other family would be paying for everything, even if she was the invited guest. Everything is so expensive, I'm glad you sent her with some $ to spend as well.
