My expierce is they get in the way. It's like our thumb. Can get caught in the grass, playing etc. Maggies has already got caught in playing with Sash and Ratard. It hangs out like a hang nail. Paso said, it would surgery to have them removed at her age.

Thanks - I should have had hers removed when I had her spayed. I just didn't think of it as being an issue but I have been keeping a close eye on it and keeping it clipped. I just hate to think of putting her in that kind of pain unless it is really something that presents a problem.

BTW, my pup has gained 2 lbs since I brought her home in June and my oldest has LOST 3 lbs. (he has about 3-4 more to go to please his vet but we are getting there - maybe by Christmas) He gets walked daily, about 2 miles, and we just started taking them hiking on the weekends. It is amazing how these 3 lbs gone have him acting like a puppy all over again and people actually stop me on the road and compliment how good he is looking.

I still have to pay bills...I can clip the nails down on the dew claws no problem...can do them all Thursday night.. will be back to work I will her her do it..
