1bdz said you are the expert. I need a bike that has some power, but is light. There is a one-stroke Suziki at Atlantic that weighs a bit more than my Rebel - it's a 650. What is the deal with a one-stroke? How do they handle as opposed to my Rebel?

I have a friend who has a S40. She loves it. Can't say how differently it handles. The only thing I've hard her complain about is it's lack of gas guage or trip meter. She's run out of gas once I know of. Don't know if this helps. BTW She is a tiny thing, yet seems to handle it well.

You said he's the expert.

Never in any of the many hours that we have talked did I ever say that he was an expert at picking out bikes!

Maybe something else, but, not bikes

What is the difference between a one stroke and two stroke?

I still have 80 of the 90 he gave me two weeks ago. Lowest dose you can get.

And the next thing you are going to tell us is that you have a bridge to sell

There is no such thing as a one stroke. Either 2 or 4 stroke. 2 stroke, the oil is injected or mixed with the fuel, 4 stroke the oil is in the engine block. 2 strokes fire on every rev. of the piston whereas 4 strokes fire every other stroke. 2 stroke are your typical dirt bike type engines with a lot of low end torque and high RPM's and 4 stroke are cruising type engines with high end torgue at lower RPM's.

So, I'm dumb here, but this bike was really light and something about a 1 stroke. It was abouit 350 pounds, like my Rebel, but with a 650 engine. Maybe I have it all wrong, but this was a real light bike becase of the stroke? So is my Rebel a 2 stroke ( I think it is). I had a LOT of fun riding it today.

:yeahthat: I think she meant single cylinder. Single cylinder will have a lumpier feel to it. More cylinders is smoother. Single cylinder also means that if something is not working right (i.e. spark plug, fuel jet, etc.) you're not going anywhere. With multiple cylinders, it'll run...just not as well.

The Rebel (and most other engines) are 4 stroke.
