Depends on the person...

My wife - she can get a carton and smoke them down, and walk away from them no problems (always hated her for that :lmao: ). She has not smoked in over 11 years...

Me - I went through hell and back to quite! It has been 4 1/2 years and there are times where I REALLY want one...

Eric Clapton (I believe) said something to the effect of;

I have quite drugs to include cocaine and heroine... I have also quite drinking... Even though I have beat those daemons, I could never quite smoking, it is something I cannot kick - even after the other drugs...

Roll your pack 1-1/2 turns in your T-shirt sleeve and don't tuck a spare behind your ear. It only gets sweaty and impossible to keep lit.

My mother smoked most of the time I was growing up. She never told me DONT do it, but she would always tell me its not a habit I want to have. Everyone in my family smokes/d and I don't. Kids will do as they please. I put an unlit ciggarette up to my mouth one day, to imitate smoking, it tasted like crap so I spit it out.

My son learned in pre-k! He tells my mother (when he is around her) that "Smoking is thumbs down". It works because she will not smoke around him. It didnt help that he asked about the lines around her mouth and bad smelling car.

i started smoking when i was 10yrs. old 2yrs. ago i had a heartattack i thought cigs weren't going to hurt me found out the hard way kids in my opinion are taught alot by what they see

My husband & I are no longer smokers. We all know that smoking is hazardous to our healths to begin with. So why subject our children to it? The 2nd hand smoke is worse. My doctor told us that we had to quit not just for ourselves, but for our children's sakes. It could cause them a lot of health problems. So if a parent smokes, how can they justify telling their children not to? Children usually do as they see their parents do. I feel that if a parent needs to smoke,and that is their right as an adult, then do not subject your children or anyone else to it, who does not smoke. Children especially deserve to not be subject to 2nd hand smoke.

my kids are still pretty young. when i go outside for a smoke, i ask them to stay inside. i tell my daughter, 3, "it's ew." and my son's, 7 & 5, that it's bad. haven't really said much else about it yet. the oldest is just interested in the fire part so far.

my parents smoke, and still do. i never picked it up from them. b/c it was really easy when young to test it out with friends and realize they're right. it's ew. it wasn't until i was 23 that i started, when my wife left me and my buddy talked me into goto to the ship's smoke deck to talk about it often...

No way, it is nice having someone to blame for my bad habit. :lol: And besides, it was your fault, if you didn't have those nifty little marlboro's in the pretty blue box I'd have never started again. :razz:
