We're looking for some freelancers who do nice work but don't charge an arm and a leg. If you are a web designer, please send us an email with a link to some of your work - vei@somd.com.

The work would be for clients who contact us looking to have a website built or redesigned. David and I are too busy to accept the jobs and I hate to just tell people, "Sorry - can't help you". I also hate to direct them to those build-your-own template things because those are just too much to bear. :twitch:

So send us an email and we might be able to hook you up with some jobs.

Here's the problem: just because someone can write html code, that DOES NOT make them a web designer. Any trained monkey can learn basic html - look at me

The hard part (where talent comes in) is having an eye for layout and color - what kind of feelings are evoked by the site, does it fit the business, is it easy to navigate, is it attractive - stuff like that.

We've all seen horrifying website where some kennedy is offering their services for site design on a site that looks like my son's cat made it. To get paid, you must be an artist as well as a coder.

HollowSoul, if you have an artistic bent, you might want to consider learning to build websites. :yay:

I know someone that does web design  don't know if he would be interested or not, I would think the extra money could come in handy say if he were looking to relocate or something , but I don't know.....I sent him the link though

I do the back-end database stuff.

Give me the techie back-end database design and making it talk to the website I am happy!

I don't have time to do consulting right now.

Between two jobs, school, and everything else.

I'm down with it! I can do part-time stuff, but I wouldn't be able to undertake an entire 'web application', unless there's a long enough timetable for me to squeeze it out during the evenings.

Unfortunately, all the websites I've designed no longer exist :(

Well there's a couple, but they're on gov't intranets, and it wouldn't be very kosher for me to upload screen-shots.

Anyway, ASP, PHP, Perl, all that stuff - right up my alley.

If your people require samples, I can whip up something, but, I haven't been looking and I don't have anything handy.

Vrai, I sent you some samples.
I don't have a lot of time to do coding-intensive projects right now, but I have a few of my own pre-made designs that would be really easy to port by switching out graphics, colors, and content. Good for 'online brochures'.

If you want me to start designing forms, cgi scripting, etc., I just can't do that right now. Not enough time.

Get with it bro LOL.. I have modified and customized a couple of the open source portals and use it as a standard template these days. Saves me alot of time and energy. God I hate static page design anymore.
