Actually, he was in the middle of the road, where he was when he was hit I don't know. He was wearing dark pants and a dark ball cap, that I can remember, but had on a light colored shirt and light tennis shoes. I don't know how he was there, what he was doing there, and I won't speculate, but if someone thought they hit a deer, and they were sober, wouldn't they have gotten out to see the damage? I know I would have.

Ive hit a deer and a dog, i saw what I hit but I never went back to investigate it. so more than likely they knew it was a person, but for whatever reason didnt stop...but at the same time, why was that guy walking around on dares beach road at 2 in the morning, was he drunk or high? or just walking? to many unanswered possibilities.

Because this is the US of A and we are not under a curfew, nor do we need to explain why we want to walk in public at any time of the day.

However, whom ever it was that hit him and left, shall have some explaining to do. :twitch:

I haven't been down in PF but once since it happened so I wasn't aware that they had posted a sign until today. I live in Charles county, but the person I've been seeing for the last 8 months lives in North Beach, which is why I was in PF at 2:00AM in the first place. I had just dropped off my other half and was on my way home.

Well considering the time of the incident, I can only speculate that he was either drunk or high or both, but I don't have that information. Honestly, and I'm no fan of over indulgence, or of drugs, but part of me hopes he was either drunk, high or both, because it would mean he llikely didn't know what happened and didn't suffer. Although it opens up a whole new set of questions for me that I don't want to think about. I'm hoping we are given more news about what happened soon, becuase I would like to have a full nights sleep and I don't know that that will happen until my subconscious feels this is resolved.

Sleep easy, death happens and most of the time there is nothing that can be done about it.

Whether or not we have curfews isn't really the point, I don't think. It's more a matter of safety. I agree that we live in a free country and have the right to do as we wish, so long as we are not breaking laws, but the fact is that walking down the road at 2:00 in the morning is unsafe, not only for the pedestrian, but for the people driving as well. The person driving the car could easily have been killed in this as well, but obviously wasn't in this case, because who would expect someone to be walking down the road at 2:00AM? If this guy were drunk, high or both, he may very well have weaved off the shoulder and walked right out into traffic, such as it is on Dares Beach at 2:00AM, and could have caused the death of others. As it is, we don't know what happened, and I just pray that whoever hit him either turns themself in or feels the weight of their actions.

I think its just my nature to worry. At least I'm told so by my other half. There are just so many variables here, and I didn't sleep more than 2 hours a day until I found out his name, and that wasn't until Monday evening, and I found him just before 2:00 AM Saturday.

My mommy and daddy taught me to look both ways before stepping into traffic. Not a bad lesson to learn.

Band camp taught me to C sharp or B flat.

In all seriousness, it is sad that this man lost his life.

What route do you take home?

Makes absolutely no sense why you would be in that area of PF at that time if you were going from North Beach to Charles County.

I live down off of Dares Beach Road. You would be surprised to see how much traffic flows through Wilson Road from Prince Frederick to get to Chesapeake Beach.

No surprise at all...know the route well. Depending on where in North Beach, it's a further distance to travel the back roads to Waldorf.

In that area also...going from Dare's Beach Rd to Chesapeake Beach is a short cut for PF folks thru Wilson, Stinnett, whatever...but for a Charles County resident going from North Beach to Chuck County, I find it odd that they would want(or even know) to take the snaky back roads at 2am in the morning rather than just taking Plum Point out to 4, then 231.

I'm not disagreeing with you on that but everyone knows how some people like to stay off the main roads at that time of night...

My two cents on the whole thing is it wasn't an "accident" that the man was hit... I'm just saying...

That guy and another girl were arrested on July 1. He was charged with driving while impared, driving w/o a license, driving under influence, etc. She was charged with possession of crack and crack paraphenalia. I'm not sure if he was charged with crack possession or not in addition to all the other charges. There was also an exparte between the two and he got charged with that, too.
