I guess they've grown a bit since I lived up there. They do their own beers too and serve food. When they started it was strictly do-it-yourself. You can keg your beer or even bottle it (with your own custom-designed labels).

Actually, I was making the comment in reference to post #3 in this thread

You will need bottles that are not twist top so I started drinking Sam Adams Lager and got a whole basement full of the proper bottles. The problem is I like Sam Adams Lager so much that I'm still in the bottle collecting stage.

One of those links is a place in Jessup that has everything you need plus advice at a reasonable price. It really does'nt take much money to get started but if you are not meticulous with the directions and keep everything super clean, it's wasted money.

I like Sam Adams too! I also like Blue Moon and, surprisingly, Michilob Honey Lager! I hate Bud, Bud lite, and all the rest. They all taste like wateer to me...

I can think of two offhand in DC that are fun and trendy -- capitol city brewry or John Harvards

Up until 2 years ago I brewed my own. I had some great batches, and some not too great batches. My best ever was a batch of Cranberry beer. I tried to copy Sam Adams cranberry they put out during Thanksgiving time. Mine turned out great and I hoarded it, only allowing special people to have some. I also used to make a brown ale that was good but it had to sit at least 2 weeks after bottling.

I need to get out my kit and get brewing again soon.

Not trying to sound funny or anything... but is it cheaper to make your own like folks who make their own ciggerettes or is it a yuppie thing

Is it cheaper to get fish by fishing or just buy them at the Giant?

Are you a dick or do you just play one in real life?

It depends on the cost of your bait, rod, reel and cost of gasoline to get out on the water topped off with the cost of parking your trailor...

try again please -- (hint: there are two answers I was hoping for -- a simple yes or no) TIA .

Do you recommend a kit like the brewmaster?

The point was, queen of incoherency, it is a hobby type of thing and has slim chances of turning a profit.
