Since you didn't register it, you obviously don't have to register it.belvak said:We recently had a home security system installed and one of my co-workers asked me if we had to register with the county. Anyone know if this is true in St. Mary's and if so, who do you register with? TIA

When the alarm goes off, who knows about it, a private security company or the sherrifs department?

Don't see why you'd have to register anything if it's monitored by a third party.belvak said:Private security company monitors but if there is an alarm and they can't contact us to verify whether false or not, they notify local fire/police.

Yes you must register. Main reason being ,they want to fine you for false alarms. There's brand new software out there that monitors and calculates false alarms. 1 to many and ya pay the man!Booboo3604 said:I live in Charles and ours is monitored by ADT but we still have to register it and pay a 20$ false alarm reduction fee every year. Apparently they collect the money from everyone with a monitored alarm to offset the cost of coming out to false alarms.
