I have a question. I need a description of what a Ignition Control Module is. What is it and how would you describe it to someone? What does it do and what is it for?

Thank you :flowers:

it's basically a small computer which controls the spark to the plugs, changes the timing, takes into account external factors like temp, speed and accel/decel.

Okay, and if you were selling one, how would you put that in "English". Maybe what you said makes sense to some people but it went WAY over my head.

If somebody is looking to buy one, they already know what it is. If you're listing it on Ebay, list the PN, photos of all the marking, what year bike it's from and WHY you're selling it.

:yeahthat:

If you try too hard to describe it in very basic terms, buyers who know what it is will know right away that you haven't got a clue, and will do their best to undercut you.

PN? It's never been opened. Ex gave it to me and told me if I could sell it. It has never been taken out of the packing so I didn't want to open it. It has the Honda number on it and I have a link for the website he bought it from as well as a "map" that shows all the parts of the area where the module goes. I guess with those things and the proper name, if someone knows what they are looking for, that's all I need to say?

Retails for $359.11 or something like that, so I want to make sure I list it right. That would be some SWEET money.

PN = Part Number

Use the tags Engine Control Unit, Ignition Control Unit, ECU, and ICU when you post your ad.

maybe put the reserve at something like $250ish

Don't think I'd mention Bike Bandit .com in your ad. Might be some copyright infringement about using infor off their site.
