Yeah, I remember hearing that. Is that still true today?

I see "bison, fish, chicken, etc..." listed in the dog food I give to my pups...

I'm scared to see the term "rendered meat" - not sure who puts that in their dog food, but that's horrible

Yeah, that's pretty sick.

It is also the result of the closure of horse slaughterhouses in the US.

Not every horse is a champion or suitable as a companion animal, breeders have a serious problem disposing of those horses these days. Back when slaughter was an option, there was a good market at the auctions, now they just end up digging a hole with he backhoe and shoot the horse.

There is a market for horse-meat. There are surplus horses. No logical reason the two needs can't be served.

I found a bison farm that would have sold me a bison head for $20.00, but my wife wouldn't let me. I figured it would be the perfect doggy chew toy. Both the dog and were terribly disappointed. (Yes, this is really true)
