If your home or getaway pad is;

- located in a salt air environment,
- is old with wiring/receptacles/switches as old,
- or both

Do yourself a favor and check all of your receptacles and switches, or have someone do it for you. You may be "shocked" to see the potential fire risk lurking behind the faceplate... I know I was !

I remember years ago, it had just stopped raining. I had window shakers; one in the kitchen and one in the living room. Together during our hot summers, I could hang meat in the house; but back to the post-rain.....
I was cleaning the gutters after the fact :doh: while standing on an aluminum extension ladder. I reached down to brush debris off the wet, running A/C unit and a jolt went up my arm. Come to find out, NONE of the outlets in the house were grounded. All of the wiring was.....well, old. The house had the original wiring, including a 20a service; built about the time PAX opened......and located Potomac River adjacent.
