Yes, the best way to handle misdelivered mail is to put it back in the box the next day with a post it note or such attached and say "not ours". I've had customers who would also take the misdelivered mail to the correct house and I didn't realize I was making an error. But when I see where I'm making a mistake I try to double check those addresses now. I can also see when my subs are misdelivering on my days off and tell them too to be more careful. With parcels though I've had the "other" guys -brown, yellow, rental trucks - misdeliver but the customer thinks it was me!

That makes perfect sense to point it out to the carrier so they know about the error. I'll do that from now on. Thanks :)
