It is snowing in PF now. Hasn't stopped doing "whatever" since 7 a.m. I need to head to the grocery store. Only 3 miles away. Worst part will be walking from the car to the store.

Tox, have they rebuilt the little town of Summerhaven on Mount Lemmon yet that was destroyed by wildfires a couple years ago?

I don't know if it's Summerhaven or not, but we've driven up to mountains several times, and once or twice all the way to Mt. Lemmon.

Up on Mt. Lemmon there's most definitly a bustling little town. It looked like a bazaar in the middle of the street, and there was this huge general store (which looked more like an interstate welcoming center than a simple place to buy buffalo jerky and homemade fudge). There were some really nice homes up there - quite obviously recently repaired given the fresh state of the wood and finish.

I dont' remember if there was a sign denoting the name of the town there though but I assume it's the one you're referring to.

I used to love the drive up there for hot cocoa in the snow to remind me of home.

We haven't gone up there since about November. We've quite purposefully avoided the snow this year. Maybe next year we'll go up there and check out the snow - maybe even go skiing, but for now, I'm not in any mood to see snow or ice, and we've even had more rain than I was hoping to see in a desert.

I'm looking forward to 110 degree weather again.

There is an absence of anything wet or white falling from the sky at present...

I'm not sure if this is a good sign or the "calm before the storm"...

Local weather indicates that drizzle should still be hitting with snow making an appearance soon after...

Any new news that I am unaware of? Perhaps we're about done with the icy white ground covering?

In Hollywood Shores we had freezing rain from sometime last night and through dawn, and then it changed to a mix of rain, sleet, and snow around 8 this morning. It snowed heavily from 8 to about 9:30, when it stopped for awhile, then started a really fine mist that was freezing on tree branches that already had ice on them. I went out and used my snow-blower to move about 1-1/2 inches of slush from the driveway and sidewalk. Then the precip stopped completely (around 10:30 or 11), and it has just started snowing very lightly.

The pavement isn't too slick yet, but with the temperature headed South, it'll freeze and will be impassable by sometime this evening if we don't have a salt truck or plow come through the neighborhood.

That's okay - don't have to leave the house until Wednesday.

I'm grateful to again say that we haven't had so much as a hiccup in our power.

In my previous post a few minutes ago, I said it had just started very lightly here in Hollywood. It is now coming pretty heavily and appears to be accumulating quickly.

I love snow!!!
