How do we fix this problem?

From the youngest adult to the Leader of the Free World , nothing is as dangerous as... complacency.

"Yeah, whatever, but what can I do about it" is a common response to very significant matters such as inflation, shortages, unstoppable rise in crime, poverty, the welfare state. I've said it a thousand times too. BUT our "leaders" are either grifting or unwilling to take a stand.

This was probably said 50, 75, 100 years ago.

Well, realistically what *can* we do about it?
Well we sure cannot write to our Congressman Steny Hoyer. That's a waste of time.
We cannot vote him or our Democrat Senators out of office because the refugee's from S.E. DC and the clowns from the Baltimore area run our state . We cant get a decent Governor even the Republican we elected was a RINO.

The feeling democrats have for voters in Southern Md. are eat sht and die.

And as we saw in 2020, our vote literally doesn't matter. The overlords will install who they want.

This Spoons reasoning for a Monarchy .... you are not really voting anything new into office, you only get to vote for who the party chooses ... and now a days there is the UNI - Party

That’s how a lot of Parliaments work - no direct voting for members, only parties. Then THEY choose the Prime Minister.

One thing this allows is the admission of smaller parties because as long as they get a portion of the vote - they have members. Which is why so many have so many parties. When no party has the majority, they must form coalitions with other parties.

Since we more or less have that now - representation by party - the one thing we lack is the extra party representation.

I want to vote for a man who thinks for himself, not for a party. I want a man with balls, I want a man who speaks up for what is right.
A man who loves America.

For your consideration ...

Help to educate others, daily. Publicly question and ridicule every elected person that does nothing to stop these things and that fail mightily at representing the people's voice. Be loud in your voice with conviction. Don't take any BS answers from them. Call them to the carpet every chance you get. People must actively, daily, be knowledgeable of the issues, and participate in governance. Stand firm in your convictions when the name calling starts. Do not cave, becasue the first thing they will do is try to discredit and disparage. The more like minded, aka the silent majority, people that stick together and fight against these a-holes, the more pressure that is brought to bear. Politicians hate constant pressure from irate people. When one battle is won, start another battle. When that one is won, start another, and so on and so on. Everyone must be relentless in targeting these elected grifters.

Freedom takes work, and is not given freely, or maintaining it, by those who would/will limit it. Maintaining freedom is a constant battle and takes constant vigilance. Back in the day, pre-internet, even pre-TV, town hall meeting were the norm, people were well informed and participated in governance, and people then had no problem calling out stupid ideas, wanton spending, or any encroachment upon the personal freedoms, rights and liberties, of the people. Somehow, we/people need to get back to that commitment. Even if it is for one hour a day.

I'm not a good debater, just cant think quickly enough. But, I am going to start replying "I don't agree" everytime someone praises these idiots.

It doesnt seem like much, but I interact with them every day, so I think they need to hear it.

And people wearing masks. I'm going to look like a cartoon character making a WIDE circle around them. And if they ask why, I'm going to tell them because I'm afraid of what they've got.

Help to educate others, daily.

Have you ever actually tried that with some wild eyed nonsensical Democrat lunatic? Go talk to StmarysCity79 and get back with me.

I largely agree with your post and think it's a splendid speech  but most of us do those things every day and it amounts to nothing. The political machine is too big and owns everything. If we had an opposing party we'd have a chance, but we don't. The Republicans showed me who they were in 2008 and have solidified that unquestionably since the day Trump came down the escalator to announce his presidential candidacy. Now they don't even bother to pretend.

I thought about running against my Rep Neal Dunn because he needs a good primary ass kicking, but just typing that made my stomach churn. For one thing, I'm not charismatic enough to build a following and get elected (see my sig line). Also the thought of associating in any way with political vipers literally makes me sick. You'd have to be clinically insane to get mixed up with that crowd.

This is what our government has become: a nest of insane vipers. Normal sensible people don't want any part of them because we see what they do to their opponents - as well as the family, friends, and third grade teachers of their opponents. We've let it get too far and at this point there's probably no going back.

Well, you are not wrong. However, doing nothing, does nothing to change the current state of affairs. I understand, there is no easy answer. I would say, to maybe, start attending your local Republican Central Committee monthly meetings, and bring along a bunch of like minded friends. Corner them into hearing you out. They do open the meeting allowing people to speak. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Hold them accountable. And they do stay in contact with all elected Republicans within each respective area ensuring they hear constituents concerns. Go every month.

Not on a bet. The Republicans suck almost as bad as the Democrats. The very last thing I want to do is sit around kaffee klatsching with a bunch of blowhards who are doing literally nothing to stem the tide of fascism, and are in fact contributing to it. I have no doubt the second I opened my mouth I would be escorted out the door, perhaps by a police officer. Have you ever been to one of those things? They're worthless.
