How does Walmart do Black Friday?

Why would they. There's no law against cutting in line, just a law about beating the crap out of line cutters.

I know there isnt a law but normally around 3:30 they are there to enforce people not cutting or jumping over the carts to get in line I have seen them boot people from the parking lot several times :yay:... they are also at both of door entrances and let only a certain people inside the door at a time once the store opens.

When we lived in KY the walmart there was open 24/7 and they started selling the specials around 2am on black friday. My husband went over to get a TV they had advertise and they sold out. They said it cuts down on the crowds. Isnt that false advertisement? Anyways, Ill be curious to see how to goes here!

Does Walmart stay open on Thanksgiving?

If so, are the Black Friday specials available at midnight?

Check the specials before you get excited.

Wal-Mart is the worst. What I saw last year and the year before it was all junk. Crap I wouldn't buy for myself at any price, and I don't llike the fact that they feel Christmas is a good time to pass off crap that that they don't sell the rest of the year.

Best-Buy had some good deals, and Staples had some AMAZING deals on items both stores stock everyday, not just junk brought in for the one day sale.

I've done the Black Friday thing for the past 4 years.

I probably won't be going this year. I get a preview from the website and there's no big deal to freeze over.

Best Buy usually has the best deals but even their ad has no big deals this year.

Last year people lined up early on Thanksgiving morning to be first in line and there were about 50 of us who sat out in the freezing cold [even rain for a while] all night long... all I got was an MP3 player that I could have gotten later that day for the same price.... I got my desk top later in the afternoon because someone misplaced the monitor that was in the package so they claimed they were out of it....

Oh and here's a suggestion... If you're doing the Best Buy Line...bring a chair and a heavy blanket... if you are going to take coffee... bring someone to relieve you when you go for potty breaks... and scope out the place for the potty break. Last year the line for Walmart was inside... a chair would be helpful because the benchs fill up quickly....

Enjoy and merry christmas...

All I want for Christmas is a job... [I'd work at Walmart if I could stand for a couple of hours at a time... but I have a bad back... bummer]

Unless you live in some other state, MD Walmarts have to close by midnight (I think it's state law to not have major stores open pass midnight). Now, go to PA, they are open 24/7...
You must not be from MD either, because the one in california, MD is 24/7. :)

I'd like to find a good deal on a camcorder. I see Walmart is going to have one for around $250.

We've got one we never use.

It takes mini DVD's, and it's such a pain to keep switching DVD's we gave up on it. one DVD is only good for about 15 - 20 minutes of recording.
