How is State Farm Insurance still in business?

If you involve your insurance it counts as a claim.. and your rates will go up.

False. If you are not at fault and file through your insurance company you will be subject to your current coverages (deductibles amount, rental amount, etc.) and the insurance company will subrogate against the at fault party on your behalf. It is not a chargeable accident so it cannot be rated against you.:yay:

So the insurers of the company owned vehicle won't act on your behalf?
They told me that I have to deal with SF directly.
That's messed up.

If you are driving a company car which is insured with somebody because it has to be to legally be driven; be it with the same company you are insured with or not, and you have an accident; your fault or not; you the driver and your insurance company are responsible for the claim. Whether that's U.S. law or MD law, not sure. That's what my agent told me years ago.
