How long does it take to build a house

You're kidding right? I would recommend anybody but 3D. ANYBODY. I won't go into details here but I have witnessed first hand work done by them and it's ugly.

Best to go out and actually see some of what they have built and talk with the home owners. I'd recommend doing this regardless of who you selected to be your builder. With a custom home many times it's the desire of the customer that determines the house plans. Ugly is a relative term here.

Here are a few of the custom homes they have built locally on Solomons Island.

I doubt most people would find these homes ugly. But to each his own.

Just curious to know, how many homes have people built for you?

Once you have purchased land and got a loan for building, how long does it take once you have started? What is the process needed from the time you purchase land?

If you are talking St. Mary's County, I would plan on a longer time frame than other parts of the country I have been in. Good luck!

Haha, you have no idea what I'm talking about. I worked for one of 3D's subcontractors for almost 10 years. I can tell you first hand that they would build no house of mine and it has nothing to do with what the house looks like. In fact I don't much care what they look like. I'm talking about craftsmanship and quality of work and from what I saw it is extremely poor. But hey everybody has to make a dollar right?

Tell me what position do you hold at that company? You are obviously trying to promote them. If you are the owner I can tell you that there is a large group of people that would not even consider 3D for a custom house due to quality of work. If you don't think people talk you are naive.

I don't have any stake in the company. I know they built a few homes around here and from what I understand those homeowners are happy with their homes.

The original post was asking about local builders. I don't know about the nuts and bolts about building, just the finished product. You obviously have a different perspective. Like I wrote before, it's best to go out and take a look at some actual homes that people live in and talk to them. Don't just look at a model home in a subdivision.

Some how I seriously doubt that. Twice you posted not only a recommendation but actual addresses of properties. I know the properties are legit because I worked at several of them. No homeowner would go that far for their builder without compensation I believe. So if you're not employed by them or the owner you must be a family member. I also doubt this because the op asked length of build time not a contractor recommendation. It's ok to promote your company just be honest about it.
