I did. Odd thing, indeed. The little blue hair munchkin behind the desk checked my given name by the laptop, then asked me my DOB and address and validated I am an "R". Now, I was a volunteer election judge a few years back and was specifically told to NOT ask party designation. Okay, fine.

But I was -> <- this close to asking her if she validated everyone's name, dob and address and why she did when no ID is required and one can register and vote the same day....

Okay, different topic: Shouldn't porn sites be sponsored by Lume" ?

I'm still wondering why I am seeing so many Tudor Dixon ant-abortion ads on my DirecTV! Isn't that a Michigan election? Did someone select the wrong state (MD instead of MI) when requesting where to air these ads??

The training I went through, they validate everyone's name, dob, and address. If there are any issues, they go over to the election judge and fill out a provisional ballot along with those that register to vote that same day.

I voted yesterday in LaPlata. They asked my name, then asked me to give my address and month and day of birth. Then they printed out a slip of paper and asked that I verify all of the information on that. The slip had my party affiliation on it. I don't recall the woman asking me for my party affiliation separately.

I used the electronic voting machine as opposed to a paper ballot, but I wonder if a paper ballot would have been better?

Took care of my ballot on Saturday.

Same here. Name, address and DOB. No further info, nor did they look at my ID.

Paper ballot.

For the life of me, I can't understand why a picture ID is not required. I know, I know all the stupid reasons why it keeps getting voted down but I have yet to hear a legitimate reason. Seems to me, the vast majority of citizens are fine with picture IDs, its just the grand poopahs of the parties that are against it. To me, picture IDs are a huge step in cleaning up the election process. There could be other steps to take for the minuscule number of voters that don't have a pic ID and a process for mail-in voting.

I haven't yet. But there have been times my ID wasn't asked for because the person and I were acquainted and already knew who I was.

If your voter registration is linked to your DL then the picture could be attached in the tablet so it could come up when checking in.
There is a procedure for no ID, it is the provisional ballot. Mail ins should be stopped.

Honestly, I never started voting until Obama was up for the prize. I was voting at Hollywood Elementary then, now it's the firehouse.

I went Sunday, the only other customers there at the time were the couple I held the door for on the way in.

I've voted Three times so far!

Plus, as a service to the community, I have put hundreds of mail-in ballots into a random nondisclosed mailbox. So everyone's vote counts. Even the deceased!

Yep, unless you can prove you're gonna be out of country tough crap. Be there on voting day.
Even then tough. I like the in person early voting, go in the prior week just in case you have an emergency that pops up on election day.
