My Metrocast internet is good for me. I've had outages when they were working on lines but not for too long.
I just upgraded with Direct for my HD and they gave me a free years worth of HD service. :yahoo:

The Metrocast DVR is junk. The remote has terrible range and sometimes turns off the television. It generally misses the start of the programs. It records programs under the wrong name. Sometimes the recordings have pixilation. Sometimes it claims that you are getting cable illegally in the middle of watching and requires a total system reset which means you lose the channel guide for several hours to a day. The fast forward feature sometimes repeatedly returns to the beginning of the commercial block when you are trying to skip over them.
We have the DVR and I've never had a problem with it, except for forgetting to record something. We also have the Harmony remote which controls our lights, too.

think Metrocast sucks in every possible way. Exactly..no need for a poll!:buddies:

What is your problem with them?

Metrocast sucks. Way overpriced and the monopoly is disgusting.
The cable business is a monopoly. Most counties only have 1 cable provider.

Really? they are extremely overpriced for the service they provide. If you went 'Dish' or another satellight provider, you could get more channel's at a less expensive price.

Extremely overpriced? Quit renting porn.

Have you bothered to call about the DVR being bad? Have you asked to switch the box out for another? They have different types of DVR boxes.

I've lived in OHio, Florida, Illinois, Arizona, and Maryland and this is the first place i've ever lived where i've only had once choice in cable provider.

Whatever it was before it was Metrocast was worse, the internet used to go out all the time...

The only problem i have is with my HD local Channels, they go out from time to time...as well as NFL network...

We have it mainly for the internet and the extra kid's channels that come with the digital package. If we were to use another satellite provider, we would be paying twice the amount for internet with a slower speed.

This works for us so I'm not fixing something that isn't broken.

I did, however, like Cox communications MUCH better when we had them for cable. But that has been awhile so not sure how their service is now.

I've been pleased with Metrocast since we switched from DTV in August. Anyone know if they plan on adding additional HD channels. That's the one thing that has me wishing I had stayed with Dish or DirectTv. When we switched we didn't have an HDTV, now that we do I wish there were more channels to choose from.

Wow all the red I got for this post, someone must work for MetroCast. Does anyone besides Chasey have a MetroCast DVR that works? If so maybe the one I got is a piece of ####. I didn't want DVR but when I signed up that was the only HD receiver they had.
