Bubba is 5.. he goes to the bathroom by himself at places we feel comfortable with.. There are some places he's not allowed to go by himself..

We figure by the time he's 7 we'll no longer have to pay for daycare, as he'll be ok at home alone, and when we get home we expect the 4 acres to stay mowed with the trimming complete, and the woods cleared out and the firepit going.

He's coming along fine with his tractor driving lessons and should be ready to go out and mow by himself by next summer.

I was a "latchkey kid" from the moment I began elementary school. I also had chores that involved the tractor (but I think I was a tad bit older - maybe 9).

As a lady in the ladies room sometimes I am a little weirded out by how old the boys are who are with their moms in there. (Not like a little three year old.) At some point/age it is probably emotionally scarring to be in the ladies room rather than the boys room.
