How Old were you when you found out?

The talk started in elementary school from the other kids, but I didn't know 100 % until I was around 9. The kids brought up the question in front of the teacher. I feel she should have left the issue alone, but she told us there was no Santa. I bet she got some phone calls from parents that year!

My daughter is 9 and no longer believes. She heard things at school and had her hunches, at that point I didn't want to lie to her. We figured she was old enough to know the truth. My son is 6 1/2 and still believes. I'm sure he is hearing things and starting to question it. But we will let him enjoy the fantasy as long as possible. My daughter has been good about not spoiling it for him.

What do you mean there's no Santa? Then who leaves all those presents for my kids and me? Maybe ya'll just haven't been as nice as you could've been, eh?

I think I figured it out when I was like 6... just by wrapping paper or something... I can't remember what it was. But shoot.... Santa still comes to my house!!!! My sister is 24... and I'll soon be 20 and my parents still give us presents from them and from Santa

I was in elementary school when I realized that Santa had the exact same handwriting as my mom.

See that is so weird...cause I was probably around 11 or so, because, my mom had a way of disgusing her handwritting SOOO SOO well . She would do it different.

11! That is great. I say the longer kids can believe in all the 'magical' aspects of Christmas, the better. I hope nothing spoils it for my kids when they're really little, but today you never know. It depends on how gullible the children are too - or how many little butthead kids at school try to talk smack about Santa, haah!
