You can try Rt6 to Bel Alton-Newtown Rd...It'll bring you out right in between La Plata & 234 but you might want to find out if the bridge is open

If you go soon, can you give a report? My husband has to go in the opposite direction - from VA to Lusby. 301 N to Bell Alton to 6 to 5/235 should work, right? We don't usually get over to that part of SoMD, being Calvert people. TIA!

Northbound 301 is open... he can take N 301 to 6 just fine.

I just tried them last week, they only offer pork ribs, they were just ehhhh... the best ribs IMHO is still The Smokeshack in Fort Washington, they have beef and pork (the beef are the best)...Johhny's shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Smokeshack, seriously! but in this case...

Yea I am not a beef rib fan. But I am always looking for a good rib joint so we will have to check them out!

I'm hearing from someone who lives in Bel Alton that there was a "mudslide" on Bel Alton Newtown Rd and that there is a road closed sign (that she went around). Supposedly lots of dirt and trees across the road. This is secondhand and I don't know her well so I'd take it with a grain of salt.

Yes, Bel Alton Newtown road was "closed" because of a mudslide but people were driving through anyways.

Sort of the same topic but from a different direction, so instead of starting another thread....
Have to go to Fredericksburg from Waldorf later... is 301 totally closed in Laplata? Or is one lane open? if just 1 lane I take it back ups are bad on 301? I live on the west side of Waldorf..should I take the back roads down to 6, then hit 301 south?

Have worked in LaPlata for 10 years, and go past there almost every day. Have tried Johnny Boys several times, and find the food terrible. Twin Kiss was much better for BBQ, not sure if they are still open or not though, remember there being a thread about it a while back.
