"WASHINGTON -- Everyone's kitchen shelves seem to contain at least one box of cereal and the grocery aisle is full of choices. But some of the most popular cereal brands fail to make the list of the healthiest.

Honey Nut Cheerios is the nation's most popular cereal brand, followed by Frosted Flakes, Honey Bunches of Oats, Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, according to bakeryandsnacks.com."

I don't see Apple Jacks on the naughty list so they must be healthy. :yahoo:

I actually don't eat much cereal of any sort, but every couple of years I get myself a box of Apple Jacks. :yum: (and yes, I know they are pure garbage).

My favorite is Rice Chexs - pretty good and low on sugar and cals. Every now and then, though, I just crave a good bowl of what used to be Sugar Pops, now called Corn Pops. Or just eat them straight out of the box.

Corn Pops, Capn Crunch, and others do NOT have the same amount of sugar on them as they did in the past - they just do NOT taste the same. Esp. Froot Loops - they must be using sugar substitutes on those? I say bring back that Super Sugar Crisp!

I agree, they make it sound healthier, with a bit less sugar, but man, they still taste great! Never liked Fruit Loops, the SSC is good, but way too sticky, and regular Cap'n Crunch is always good as well!

To this old guy with just below borderline potential diabetes, and drinks only diet/sugarless anythings, even a little sugar makes it worthwhile.

That Nature's Path cereal looks like birdseed. And it is expensive, as are most healthy foods.

Just put that kind of food in the bird feeder. When the squirrels chase the birds away, a decent pellet gun will end that threat.
