Before you should think about putting your daughter on BC?

This has be troubling me for months. My 11 year has had her P. for about two years. Cramps, heavy flow. All I can think if,:poorbaby: I don't think it's fair she started so early.:frown:

I got this information about Loestrin24Fe and have heard wonderful things about it. It makes your periods last only a day or two and it's not heavy.

Pro's:
Short P's
Easier on the cramps
Lighter flow
Continue being a young girl without being out of commission for 12 weeks a year.

Con's:
BC raises the risk of some cancers.
Heart risks.
Various other side effects, not to mention her mother could never take any of them.
Gives license to  Once she figures out that's what they're for:yikes:
The longer you're on it, the worse off you are in the long run. Or so I hear.

What do ya think??

Most of the guys she considers cute are so GAY that I'm not worried about her getting knocked up until she get's blind sided by a metrosexual:ohwell:

Heaven help that child if she get's knocked up. I've all ready told her I'd push her down the stairs:lmao:

(disclaimer: Before you jump out of your own azz at my last statement, let me remind you of my sense of humor and imagine an 11 year old me telling her mother that she'd just break a leg so I'd have to wipe her behind for 9 months.)

I guess you have to balance the pros and cons .
if heavy periods are an issue and getting in the way of sports or day to day activities then yes I think it might be a good idea.
However if you think you can leave it longer do.The risks associated do look scary but plenty of women have no ill effects at all and remain healthy.
This probably has not helped at all.
All the best in your decision. If it were me I would leave it untill my daughters periods were that heavy she worried about leaking in public.

No, I think he was either trying to get cancer, or trying to get knocked up, which is like a temporary cancer. Either way, this just proves that Jeff is one sick freak:lol: But I like him like that:yay:

You're sick.. Here I am with problems and get no sympathy outta you.

What do I do with this string?? It's hanging out of my zipper???

I started taking bcp when I was around that age because of hormonal migraines. I have taken it since then only stopping when I was trying to get knocked up or knocked up. I've never had any problems.
If it's gonna make your girl feel better and enjoy life more then go for it. Watch her for side effects and change up the pill if you need to.

I took it when I was younger due to problems with periods but I was 15 (late bloomer) and she is 11??? Wow that is young, but the bcp will help ALOT!

What does her doctor say?

Most girls that young have irregular cycles, so that shouldn't be a factor, at least not yet. As far as being heavy, that's subjective. What's normal for some might be heavy for someone else.

I was on a pill similar to Loestrin and it seriously messed up my system, which is one thing for a 30-something, but I'd worry about the effect it would have on a still developing girl. Besides the fact that it ultimately failed in its primary purpose.

I am really impressed with how she's handled it. Having a period at the age of 9 would have traumatized me, but she( much like ever generation that succeeds the one before) seems more mature than I was at her age.

I"ll look in to long term effects more before I take it to the doctor. I don't know if I'm ok with it just yet:ohwell:

11 is a little young maybe you can get away with telling her that it is for cramping and not letting her know it is bc, maybe take it out of the round pop out dispenser, sorry if they no longer look like that but I got spayed a few years ago:cartwheel

Put a patch on her ass and tell her it's a GPS. :lmao:

I am assuming that she already knows what BC is, right?

You'd think that there would be some sort of medication for this other than BC.

P.S. Teen Midol works better than the adult kind. :yay:
