Wifey and I just got back from our shortened around the country trip. We planned on six weeks, but cut it to three weeks, due to the weirdness going on. . Our primary mission was accomplished - to be at our newest grandsons first birthday in Anacortes, Wa. That was good. With everything shutting down, we headed back Saturday, and just puled into home in Tampa about an hour ago. I haven't checked into this site in about a month, so decided it was time to see if everyone is staying healthy and hopefully not losing too many jobs.

It went FL, AL, MS, LA, TX NM, CO, UT (felt the earthquake), ID ( got snowed on pretty good), OR, WA, then the return via MT, ID, WY, SD, IA, NE, KS, MO, IL. KY, TN, GA, and back home. Only got to see Arches NP (the rest were closed down the next day. We have been to most of the other national parks and monuments in those states in the past, but it was still disappointing to not being able to check them out again.

Hope y'all are doing ok and healthy. We will get through this thing, and I will not be locked into my home, will live life within reason, and will follow good social spacing and hand washing!:buddies:

RV? Car? If car, did you have problems getting a motel?

What kind of mileage did you drive each day? How many stops?

We took our own car. No problems with hotels at all - great prices, especially in NM, UT, ID, anbd OR, and on the way back in MT, Deadwood, SD. Got back to normal pricing in MO, and TN for our final two stops. Those two places had decent occupancy. The other places we were literally in empty establishments, but very nice places to stay. Put about 6500 miles on the vehicle, no problems. The west is the best. Gas was a low as $1.39 at one stop in MT, but the rest was in the $1.59 - 1.89 range. Great for the driver, but bad for the economy and the oil industry.
