Ok Folks...

This is the unit I own, and seems to be a workhorse, but since :stupid: about computer stuff, how does my unit rate in terms of "antiqity", compared to modern machines......Thanks.

You needed a post within an hour? :lmao:
It looks to be about the equivalent of GF's desktop, maybe a little older. Its good for everyday stuff...email, playing music, solitaire :lmao: Its not going to play anything hardcore very well

not sure what you're looking for in a response  If it does the job for your purposes, you needn't be too concerned about "modern day" stuff

HP Pavilion 521c Specs - DealTime

Athlon processor @ 1.47 Ghz, stock 256Mb RAM, 266Mhz bus.

Not state of the art by any means, but not something I'd throw out yet. The biggest, single question is one you have to ask yourself: Does it do what I need it to do without struggling or frustrating me? If all you do is email and surf, it's probably fine. If you're doing intensive graphics or gaming, time to step up.

My work computer is an IBM T-42 @ 1.7Ghz. Does everything I need it to do.

Thank You......got it from a friend down South for nothing, only had about 20 hours of use on it.....For me it's been great, and we used to only use HP's in the steel mill, because of it's durability(dust and heat)...saw many of Dell, and Compaq, go :dead:......Anyway it's pretty fast, and just wanted some input.., no need in shelling out cash for another..Next best PC we had was IBM...:yay:...I do keep a spreadsheet, and all is well with that..TY

It could probably use a boost in RAM. 256mb is not that much. I'd check into the price of a 1gig chip. It'd run a little faster for you.

it can't support that much.
Max was 516Mb :yay:

You might want to check the link GWguy posted.

Here's the specs for maximum RAM capability:

For what you are doing it will be fine - I have two sticks of 256MB to get you to 512MB (double of what you have now) laying here I will give you. :yay:

You're alright! :buddies: Doubling that machine's RAM will certainly help out! :yay:

well, I meant 512 anyway, not 516 :lmao: BUT, I got those specs off of HP's website
LET me check again though ..
