In My Opinion
One of my users has an HP laptop, (not sure of the model but its newish)
she connects to a 2005PR USB 2.0 Port replicator
From the replicator she is connected to the network, a 21 inch monitor and an HP Laser P3005 printer.
the issue
network, printer and monitor are all always connected to the port, the laptop is connected and disconnected each night.
When the laptop is plugged back in, sometimes, it will not recognize the monitor, and simply by turning the monitor off, waiting a few seconds and turning it back on, then choosing the monitor function from the laptop, it works.
The printer, if on, will not be seen by the laptop, until you turn off the printer then turn it back on.
All network printers work just fine for her without fail.
anyone ever seen this before?
since she never remembers to turn off the monitor and printer, I can pretty much expect to be down resetting things on a daily basis.
