Well, my 4000.00 dollar XPS is sitting in my closet collecting dust because no one will buy it for what I want for it. I refuse to let it go for less than 1500.00 I have upgraded everything but the graphics card and they say that's the only one that will work with the computer so I can't upgrade it.

That sucker screams with its 4GB of RAM. I just don't understand people thinking that your going to come down in price on a machine that still sells for close to 3000.00. No freakin way. Anyway, worse comes to worse, I will just use if for travel, which I rarely do.

My HP Pavilion dv9810us is still operating flawlessly, for 3 months now.

I did have some internet connectivity problems, that apparently weren't Microsoft or Verizon issues, they were HP.

Man, I must have talked to techies in Pakistan, India, the Philipines, Nova Scotia, and even Guatemala! Can you guys speak Eengleesh, please?

Finally an indian that knows what he's doing! I connected to HP Chat because I was getting an error message if I clicked on an internet link within an email and it was really starting to irk me! I have never worked on a Vista machine before so my hands were tied.

He finally got me to where we needed to be and had me reboot and voila it's fixed! :yahoo:

Stop Staring!!!!!
I am still dealing with Dell about my XPS laptop. So far replaced 2 motherboards & 1 Graphics Card. Last night put in a New hard drive. Still has not fixed the problem.

I called again last night and finally they are doing do what I asked them 3 weeks ago and send the damned thing back to the depot to put it on the diagnostics bench.

I guess it will turn out to be the display or a wiring harness, but hey, at least 80% of the thing will be all new parts. Fortunately I still have almost another year of warranty left on it so I will watch it like a hawk. The slightest blip I see from it and I'll get on the phone and start pestering the crap out of them.

I am not really all that angry about it. The thing is over 3 years old and this is the first time I have had issues with it. And fortunately I got the extended warranty so none of this is costing me anything now.

It's not like it my only Computer.

Well, today I stopped at Staples and picked a 2gig DDR2, 667mhz RAM chip at lunchtime. I just got through installing it on my HP laptop, and - Whoa! - we're operating just a mite faster than we were, oh say, 20 minutes ago!

I got the last one they had on sale for $79.99!

This now means I have 4gigs of RAM installed on this little rascal!

I'm Loving It!:yahoo:

Yeah this Touchsmart flies like you wouldn't believe. It's a lot faster than my XPS and that is saying something, cause it has 4gig on it too.

I think I made a good choice in this Touchsmart. (Please God I'm begging you no more bad luck!)

What I'm liking about this is, that if I decide I want load some new software programs on it, I've definitely got the RAM to support them.

With XP Pro, on my older machine(desktop), I have only 1gig of RAM - upgraded from the original 512mb that came with it, along with a 256mb video card I installed on it 2 years ago. Both XP Pro and Vista seem to be hogs, as far as RAM usage!

Yeah with Vista they say for you to have at least 2gig just for basic. If you ask me even that drags. With the 4gig this has the Vista 64bit home premium rocks as far as speed goes. I don't think I will ever get used to it though. I feel so lost. :frown: Some one hold me. :bawl:

j/k :lmao:

It DOES take some getting used to! I've been using it for 3 months now, and I'm still getting dazzled, such as bam! - what the heck was that all about! - during a program I'm utilising, it can switch to Windows Media Player, while I'm typing along, replying to a post on these boards. So, I have to move the cursor up to the right hand corner of the screen, and tell it to quit WMP.

Where'd the heck did THAT come from? :lmao:
