Perhaps. She could just be protecting the enterprise until a final decision is made or executed on. I suppose the uncertainty about it being spun off could affect some consumer purchase decisions, though it isn't clear to me that it should.
I am sure this is what it is ..... stock holders getting twitchy in a major consumer pc seller gets out of the market .... why buy an HP if they are getting out of the marked, get a Gateway or Acer
Then, there's the issue that the consumer PC business doesn't appear to be a growth industry anymore.
I hear more people were buying laptops, and people who bought netbooks, are now buying some tablet .... tablets and smart phones were putting a hurting on the PC business in general
[there was an article, I have not read yet, iPad and Amazon have sewn up the tablet market]
oh a side note, my buddy just got an Asus X73 17 inch laptop for 800 bucks on sale @ micro-center
