Do you use the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player at all??

Seeing how the PS3 is $399, and the CHEAPEST Blu-Ray player is $399.. thinking of getting a PS3.

We have one Blu-Ray disc (thanks to my daughter's sticky fingers and hubby's lack of paying attention to what she puts in her stroller) and we watched it on the PS3 and my hubby was very pleased with the quality.

I have never tried it. It says they wil play though. I keep wanting to get one just to see if there is any real difference

HUGE difference.. HD-DVD looks really good, but Blu-Ray is supposed to be MUCH better. Was curious if the PS3 was as good as a stand alone Blu-Ray player.

It's a good selling point for the PS3. I've got my Sister talked into buying her husband one so she can watch movies on it

I've never seen a true HD DVD either. I have the HD Direct TV with all the movie and HD channels

You didn't return it to the store?

No we didn't....

Funny thing is we had no idea. My husband had bought a PS3 game and when the alarm went off, we contributed it to the game and the door person let us through. Believe me, I try to watch and inspect her stroller/cart for stray items before we leave, but sometime things get past me. I told my husband to take the movie back in but it was Teenage Mutant Ninga Turtles and he wanted to see it and figured it was his lucky day.
