Have a question of anyone with Hughes net. When you run speedtest.net, what server does it say for you to use? Mine automatically says one out west.

What kind of results are you getting? Understand in most cases the new Gen 4 doesn't test as well as advertised..

But speedtest lets you pick a server if you want..

During the test hit the "tools" button, top of next screen there's a button to change servers.

And mine defaults to DC

My connection is fine at the main house where the router is located. But
I know that I would benefit from an extender for my wifi.

I was just wondering cuz it saying somewhere out west I wanted to know why it said that. I know with cable in st Mary's county it automatically picked DC

I would assume it detects where your IP is at, not where you are at.

So your HUGHESNet server is somewhere out West.. would partially explain the latency issues/ ping times...

Yes! It would and I was wondering if that was normal for down here. I guess I should call and ask

Yes it does detect your ip and is saying its out west
