Hughesville HD vs Ft. Wash HD

Wow, what a difference. My dad decided to finally trade in his 95 Harley for a new one. He went to Hughesville first to get a quote on his trade-in. Then he went to Ft. Washington (which he's always dealt with anyway). Ft. Washington gave him $2,000 more on the trade-in.

If you're considering a new Harley, I'd suggest going to Ft. Washington instead of Hughesville. :yay:

FYI - All American (Hughesville H-D) is having open house today 10-4. There's free food, music, and other goodies going on. Oh, T-Bone and Heather are supposed to be there.

Smolenski owns them both. He also owns Clinton Cycles and Guy Motors.

I doubt he is making payments ,since owning a Harley shop is like having a license to steal, and he has been in business for a long time. He's sold a lot of T-shirts.

He bought the Washington Harley from Whittington back when Whittington sold it and made a brief stab at moving to Florida to open a shop in Sarasota. A guy named Rossiter soon replaced Whitt in Sarasota and now has the shop there and another in Bradenton Fla. The shop in Washington went from a great hangout for real riders to the strictly business enterprise that it is now. Like most Harley shops when the yuppies started buying into the life style. I understand Whitt is still kicking his own butt each morning, for selling.

Whitt took over the Harley Shop in Washington from a fellow named Redhouse who was the original owner and the shop was in Georgetown ,D.C.

Whitt was quite the character. He used to always give me free stuff whenever I went to the Harley shop with my parents. I think he had a thing for young girls. :lmao:

My parents saw him not too long ago.

I used to go up to "the hood"(Ft Wash) on Saturdays until the Harley shop in Mechanicsville opened. They had a better T shirt selection than All American and still do BUT it is "different" there now so I only go to Hughesville every Saturday. I actually found that prices were cheaper in Hughesville but that might be because PG is a higher dollar county??? A battery tender was $69 in Ft Wash but $59 at All American. I went to Hughesville today at 1:00 and it wasn't too busy. Most of the people had moved on but cars were still parked up & down the side road.

Why do you need a genuwine Harley Davidson battery tender? That little bar and shield sticker adds 20% to the same part without it
