There are several of these exhibitions coming out of Europe and touring the world. Many involved bodies willed to the exhibitor, who injects them with liquid plastics that replace the body tissues with pliable plastic. Then dissections are performed, more injections take place to replace nerves and other non-vascular structures with dyed materials. They are posed and "cured" in secret ways and placed on display. There's one guy in Germany or Austria who is also doing animals (posing a dissected horse ridden by a dissected man) and other animals.

Got my tickets for Sat march 29 at 2 pm. :yahoo: Cant wait. This, I hope is going to be one of those things you remember for the rest of your life. But really, where do they get those cadavers and who are they.

You'll love it! It's not nasty at all, but really interesting.

There was a special on 60 minutes--20/20--one of those. The bodies come from China. Mostly homeless people. They are processed on some back woods building. The director of this exibit said he had no idea that is where the bodies come from. Pretty lucrative business.

Yesterday was the day. I can honestly say Ive never seen anything like it. There was no cameras allowed. I know I looked like a tard walking around the exhibit, I know I had this stupid look on my face the whole time. Im sure it was pure amazement. I was so intrigued by this. It gives you a whole new look at the human body. My mouth just kinda hung open the whole time. I just kept thinking about these people and who they were. I wanted to go back thru a second time because once is not enough. And by the way Cincinnatti is a really cool place. we went over the bridge to Kentucky and found the riverboat. Going gambling soon. There is a place in Cin called Jungle Jims, anyone ever hear of it or go there. It a grocery store the size of St Charles mall. They have everything. Different sections of the store for different countrys. They had food from germany, holland, france, indian food, ect. Coolest place.

I saw his when it was at the Science Museum of Minnesota.

It was very interesting, and kind of eerie. The most interesting yet disturbing piece was the mother with child still inside her.

They didnt have anything like that, although that would have been awesome and creepy to see. They did have a section with fetuses in various age stages.

That sounds really interesting!! I think I might go to the one in Baltimore. Thanks for the info!

When I lived in Philly, I loved the Mutter's Museum. Anyone else ever been there?
