God bless the USA
Life's too long and serious to not have a sense of humor about things. Why be a grouch when a pleasant tone works just fine?

There are things I can not find elsewhere, which I do get on Amazon (mostly comfort food items), but try to keep most of my purchases from more traditional sources.

Missy T had another episodic day over the weekend, but bounced back real well.
She had a good gnosh for breakfast and is now sleeping by me on the couch.

I think she will see her 21st birthday in June.

:yay: Good points.

Also, I look forward to wishing Miss T a happy bday in June.

The local businesses that have the parts refuse to sell parts to "the public"---They REFUSED cash-- Not a way to run a business. I could care less if they stay in business or not.

Amazon had it and gladly took my money.

Its just not a local issue, There are more than a few industries that cater just to the customers that run business's in the field like the HVAC industry.

I had it explained to me many years ago by one of the suppliers when I went in for igniters for an oil burner that they refused to sell me. They said that I might come in once in a blue moon to get something while the contractors are there almost daily doing lots of business and the feelings of the contractors is that if the supplier sells to me it is cutting into the livelihood of the contractor and that if they knew that the supplier was dealing with the ordinary citizen they would take their business elsewhere. Might be BS, but I kind of understand it. But since the day of the internet and online shopping I don't see it as much of a problem any longer, if you can get a part number you can get a part.

That's my thinking about it, their idea when you buy from them directly you are cutting out the profit from the HVAC tech. It's kinda evil, you just need a simple cap or fan motor or some simple ####, they want you to contact the HVAC tech to rape you on labor, for something you can do yourself.

Here's the thing about this, it don't work no more. They can go to Amazon, Ebay, and buy it and now esp ebay ships on Sundays with USPS. So they are technically shooting themselves in their own foot. Since they refuse that customer that customer spends their money to a supplier that is thinking more "forward".

Because Skilled Trades Business's tend to order replacement / spare parts off Amazon, ebay. LOLOLOL..
If they truly were shooting themselves in the foot, So many trades would not be doing it. How about you swing by Posners and price a 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" 14 ga angle. And I bet I pay half what you pay.

Well that's another reason, you have cash and the business refuses to sell to you because you are a HO, not a professional in the field. That's pure bull####.

Yep, because homeowners tend to come in and buy replacement HVAC systems on a daily basis. Plus there is just no money in dealing with homeowners in a supply house.
Your just mad that they will not sell to you.

I understand why a supply house would not sell to me, or have different pricing.
I'm the occasional "found money," not part of the regular income flow.

When I worked for a large door and window company in the Midwest we had several pricing schedules based on who you were.

Farmer's Coops, big builders, smaller contractors and homeowners had different markups from wholesale.

That also happens daily in most industry's..

I remember when Grainger had their account holder pricing coded in the catalog.
Had an account with them for quite a while, spent a whole 5 - 6 thousand over the course of 20 years..

Yes they do, In the decades of working for Otis, They had a National Account with Grainger. If I needed something for myself from Grainger I would use Otis's account and pay cash. I would save 20 to 40% on most purchases.
