You should design something that would spare everyone from the step of reinstalls and uninstalls. You've mentioned it more than once so I can imagine others feel the same way. Think about it.

It's an old saying, kinda like "the cobbler's children". The cobbler makes shoes for everyone else, but his own kids go shoeless.

There are ways to create image backups, like dn said, using products like Ghost. It's usually too time consuming or a pain in the neck for most people to deal with. Most folks don't even back up their personal data, which is WAY more important than recovering the PC and operating system.

Ok, buddy, that record is getting old! Windows could def use a backup program like that. I wind up copying NTBackup from XP Pro and using it on XP Home, then set it up to do dailies to an external drive. I don't like any of the canned backup programs that come with external 3rd party drives.
