I can't choose a new cell phone (Verizon network)

I have the new LG Chocolate, and I really like it. My only fault with the phone is the material the face of the phone is made from. It's very scratch-prone, and considering it's a touch screen, that's not so good.

I don't text much from this phone, because it's a pain, so if you're heavily into texting it's probably not the phone for you. I talk, I don't text. I use my Treo if I want to text very much.

A girlfriend of mine recently got the ENV, and loves it, and from a texting perspective would be a much better option because of the full keyboard, but it's too bulky for me for a phone.

I text all the time from my Chocolate phone with no problems...but like you said, the screen is horrible.

Super Genius
They are on sale at VZW in California (MD). $159 with a $50 rebate plus it comes with the accessory bundle (car charger, case or clip, and blue tooth). :yay:

Mmmmm...I don't think that bundle comes with a Bluetooth headset. Looking at the stuff on line, I'm guessing that it comes with the Jabra which is not Bluetooth.

what happened to a "PHONE" - bluetooth is good for the wireless headset

but how many really use the email, web browser, text messages (other than teens ) camera (unless you snapping photos of the hot Hooters Waitress)

I bought a Unlocked Razer off of ebay last year .... (my friend had to have one when they were NEW and paid Cingualr $400 :faint: for his) for 140 bucks got a car charger, and headset, took the SIM card out of my Samsung X497 and slid it right in my Razer and down the road I went

I have never surfed the web, only sent email to get a pic of my daughter on it send maybe 10 text messages in 6 months ....

really other than teens who really uses this stuff

Oh and I had a BB @ one point and only used YM on it besides getting my company email ....

I didn't mean to say it can't text, it's just I HATE having to type each letter of each word on that type of keyboard, so I do it only on rare occassions.

BTW, anyone who thinks only teens text is a fool. I'm well over 30, and all of my friends/peers/associates text.

I use all the above CONSTANTLY.. '

I text every day, I check my e-mail everyday, sometimes multiple times a day.. I'm ALWAYS using the camera, and have some GREAT video clips I otherwise wouldn't have. I don't YM much, if at all everyday, but I do use the mobile Web to check the weather, check weather radar to see what's coming, and I can check the headlines..

So yeah, it's phone if you use it as a phone, but if you have the technology, use it.

My phone I can't receive calls in my office (shielded bldg), but I can get and send texts to my kids/ wife all day if I want..

Flip open an EnV and you have a full QWERTY keyboard with big enough keys that someone with gorilla hands like me can use it.

Well I ended up with the LG Venus... The key selling feature was the big 3D buttons. The demo was very smooth sliding, the screen is very bright and clean.

I spent about an hour playing with all the phones, then norrowing them down.

My mini review of the others.
SCH-u740 - I hit a few keys at the same time or the wrong button when trying to write a text message.

LG Chocolate - I liked it but it has a bad track record, the sliding mechanism at the store felt stiff and off the track.

Samsung FlipShot - felt very flimsy like the screen would break off.

Motorola MOTORIZR Z6tv - ultra smooth keys... you can't tell if your finger is moving across the keys

Samsung LG VX8700 - its Samsungs' version on the Razr, but why silver keys with white text?

LG enV - it was just too bulky, but I did like the keyboard on it.

I think this goes hand in hand with it's durability.. If you aren't tough on a phone it may be too bulky.. but I'm glad I have it. Mine would have been trashed 3 or 4 times over if it was a little less bulky
