I've got one of my older students who is a motorcycle cop laid up and not able to come for his horseback riding lessons for 6 weeks because his damm bike fell over with him on it! Go Figure!
Well, if he dresses like the MC cops in Baltimore and BWI I can understand why he's laid up for six weeks.. Wouldn't be his fault, it's the "Motorcycle cop uniform"..

Horses are some of the most interesting creatures. They are a lot like very large dogs except they generally don't lick you to death. Each one has a very distinct personality. The fun and exciting part about riding is creating a bond and figuring each other out. Unlike motorcycles, horses have personality and feelings too. I don't care what my husband says! I never ride without helmet anymore. I have fallen enough times to know I could break my little skull wide open!

They are kind of like husbands too. I can't figure him out either except he argues in English and does a different kind of riding. Horses don't expect as much from you as men. I have laundry to fold!

Jersey attitude.
Hey HappyAppy, sorry to hear about your spill; glad you are not worse off. At least your mare had an excuse, she tried to go over something she couldn't. My lazy gelding trips over his own feet on a flat surface. But he's getting better.

I rode thru the wilds in Utah without a helmet, but would never think of being without mine in NJ or MD. Go figure.

I never actually got to know a motorcylcle, but wouldn't that make you as crazy as all the horse people thinking that your motorcycle had feelings? I know a lot of people who treat their motorcycles like babies, but mainly I meant horses have a mind of their own. That is what makes them unpredictable and fun to ride or scary...may be the case.

Whether it be riding horses or motorcycles, it's nice to have something you love to do. Done them both and can't really say which I like best since I enjoyed both.
Happy to hear everything turned out okay. How are you feeling now?
