I Feel the Need to Know...

Hello6

Princess of Mean
Thankfully my house is never too cold, but with about 80 lbs of dog situated on your lap and hogging the blanket, I wouldn't notice if it were a tad bit chilly.
Work on the other hand....I thank ( insert deity here)that thoughtful man of mine for giving me a space heater. I've used it in the summer and it has been the only thing keeping me alive this winter.
Stupid office on a boat.

On what setting/temperature is your thermostat placed?

Are you cold regardless?

Can having a headache make a person more susceptible to chilling quicker?

If I whine long enough, will Spring come sooner?

:blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah:

I don't pay for electricity so I set it wherever I feel. :peace:

Mine is set to Oil is expensive, so it usually hangs around 70.
:yeahthat: But I set mine at 68 degrees. I want to install a set-back thermostat to lower the temperature at night to 60 or so, then back up to 68 when we get up.

I bet I can beat all of you...

My heat is OFF. Right now I'm sitting here with the window open. Seriously.

My apartment must be very well insulated, because it has been warm in here all winter. I assume at some point I'll turn the heat on, but it hasn't happened yet...

AMP

Jersey attitude.
Set at 58, nice gas heat! I work upstairs all day and my office faces south; it gets overly warm upstairs during the day so I usually crack a window. But then when I go downstairs in the afternoon it is cold! No basement, right on concrete. But who's complaining?

I have gotten the chills more this winter than any other. ANd yeah, if you have a headache, you are apt to feel anything more acutely because something is already hurting you.

Taking my decaf hazelnut cream coffe into bed with me and a good book (yeah, it's another boring Friday night for AMP).

I’m set for 66 for heat (oil fired boiler and hot-water baseboard) and 77 for air conditioning. If it gets colder than normal I occasionally light off an old vintage kerosene space heater that is always ready for when we get a power outage. I also circulate the heat with the air conditioners air handler to maximize the heat that rises to the upper floor.

We have an excellent oil furnace and central heat/air. We also have had a big problem with drafts ever since the place was remodeled. The North and West end of the house gets cold at floor level and pretty much stays that way. Our office is in that end of the house, so at times like this, the space heater's running while one of us is in here. We keep the rest of the house set to 72 - 73 24/7 during winter, and 78 or so during summer.

I have a Heat Pump, a new one I had installed last May. With it, I had a new digital thermostat also put in, that I can regulate the temperature in the house 4 different times during each day of the week.Generally, I leave it set on 72 F during the day, and have it slip down to 68 F during the nighttime, after I've gone to bed.
I also have a fireplace, and while it's not that economical, it gives out enough warmth that the Heat Pump turns itself off, when I have a good blaze going.

BRR! Reminds me of living on my Destroyer (DD-981) in the North Atlantic! Only warm place was in the rack (bed) in berthing (crew's quarters).

My apartment is college had free gas heat, so we figured why bother being cold? Stayed around 80 in winter, always felt like spring/summer in there

Well, I've resorted to 2 plus layers on inside with the temp set at about 72.

With the cold to the core I seem to be maintaining, accompanied by my lovely headaches, I am adding a third layer of socks, snow pants - on top of the long john/jean combo, an additional thermal top layer (above the long john, turtleneck, sweater and often sweatshirt), a cap under the already two hoods and the already existent head warmer and scarf duo plus two pairs of gloves to exercise the girls until I thaw out... :lmao:

Still can't get my nose warm.. :ohwell:

And I ask, "How you like me now"? :cartwheel
