I was sooooo hoping that Mark Martin would change his mind and race next weekend. [/QUOTE]
Same here... Going to be the first race I've ever watched that Mark Martin was not starting in.

Jimmie could've given Tony alot more room. Semmed Tony was willing to take the high side and give Johnson some room. I just wish Jimmie would race guys with the same level of respect they race him with. I was looking forward to a race, not Jimmie running Stewart into the wall. Contact or not, Jimmie gave Stewart no room.crabcake said:Tony could've let out of the throttle a tad but they're both racers, and Atlanta typically has finishes like this.
Let's make a guess where Johnson finishes?nachomama said:Hopefully he'll come to his senses and change his mind. I'm sure Ginn Racing would be able to accomodate him.
Bring on the Bullring they call Bristol!
I've always been a fan of Mark Martin. He's got his best shot at a championship since 1990, wish he would take it. Oh well...purplepassion said:I was hoping Mark would race also. It's a shame that he's in first (even if it's such a small margin) and with him not racing he'll be out of first after that. I have always like Mark. He's a clean racer and admits when he's wrong.
You mean Martin has never led the points in the previous 16 years?AndyMarquisLIVE said:I've always been a fan of Mark Martin. He's got his best shot at a championship since 1990, wish he would take it. Oh well...

He's never led the points 3 weeks in a row 4 races in since 1990. He almost won that year too.Pete said:You mean Martin has never led the points in the previous 16 years?
You are right, I would have to agree 5 races in if he stayed he would be a sure lock to win a championship.AndyMarquisLIVE said:He's never led the points 3 weeks in a row 4 races in since 1990. He almost won that year too.
And to my anonymous karma giver, I do know what the hell I'm talking about. Watching and going to automobile races (and not just NASCAR, but ARCA, ASA, IndyCar and IHRA) 14 years of my life, I'm sure I'm qualified to an opinion about car racing. Rick Hendrick's the devil - sorry if you disagree, it's an opinion. If you're too much of a pussy that you cannot handle that, I feel bad for you.
Remember 2001?nachomama said:He won't. He'll probably pick up a dnf. Bristol is also known as the "revenge track".
Last year at this point, we knew Johnson and Kenseth would be the front runners in the championship. There's always a darkhorse, however. Remember Harvick last year?Pete said:You are right, I would have to agree 5 races in if he stayed he would be a sure lock to win a championship.
"we" I have no clue wtf you are talking about. 5 races into a 36 race season the nothing is decided with any degree of certainty.AndyMarquisLIVE said:Last year at this point, we knew Johnson and Kenseth would be the front runners in the championship. Roughidle said:Was just good hard racing between two great drivers. I'ld rather see finishes like that than someone winning with a half track lead.
My only complaint is about NASCAR is Nextel drivers racing in the Busch series.
So 5 races in last year, Jimmie Johnson was not a good prediction to win the championship?Pete said:"we" I have no clue wtf you are talking about. 5 races into a 36 race season the nothing is decided with any degree of certainty.
You are right, 5 posts into your 2311 I pretty much predicted you were retarded.AndyMarquisLIVE said:So 5 races in last year, Jimmie Johnson was not a good prediction to win the championship?
5 races in, you can generally tell who's going to be a factor and who's not.
