Okay ladies, recommendations for a shampoo, conditioner, root lift and spray. My hair is so thin, just got it cut and bought some Big Sexy Hair root lift, but, it isnt working. I'm almost ready to get a perm, which I havent had in years, but, it has no body what so ever.

Have you tried any of the dry texturizing/volume shampoos? There's a ton of them out on the market and because it's a fairly new product (I think) there's a ton of sample sizes. Your hair does not need to be "dirty" to use them and get results,

I feel your pain. I tried this once and was really surprised that it worked so well. I did buy the small travel size to see if it worked before I forked out $ for a full size bottle. I bought it at Sephora, but you can shop around.

Thanks! No, havent tried that, but at this point I'm willing to do so. I'll be making a stop at Penny's this weekend.

I not crazy about the dry shampoos, but, if RoseRed's suggestion doesn't work out, I'll give it a try.

I have brown hair and the older versions of dry shampoos left my hair with a white residue. The new stuff has dry shampoos made for brunettes and says things like thicker, volumizing, texture; all ways I like my hair to look.

My sympathies. I think all of us hate our hair at one point or another and lots of time when we think it looks horrible; other people think it looks fine and aren't noticing what we're noticing. We're our own worst critics sometimes.

I have very fine, very straight hair. I wear it short for that reason. It's always irritated me when someone suggests "hey, have you ever thought of growing it longer?" Yes, I would like like I did when I was 16 and it was long and straight and no body in it!

It's been a lifelong PITA to me, to find the right style, but what I have now is the hairstyle that works (mostly) for my face shape and I've stuck with it. I've gotten better over the last 15 years with it, by losing the aqua net (mostly) and I've learned new ways to dry/style it so that it looks better than it used to (to me). I'm never going to have a ton of body in my hair - it's just the way it is!! I don't spend oodles of $$ on products, and I don't want to spend all freaking day on it, either.

I had stick straight hair until pregnancy. Since then, if I leave it without adult supervision and blow it out straight, I get the beach waves. They look good until I put a brush through it and it frizzes out. Now I just use a wide tooth comb until wash day. In this heat, I pretty much have it up in a pony and call it a day.
