Ok so I have Netflix

What are some movies I should watch?

The Pursuit of Happiness was great!

The Descent

Dark Night

The Holiday

Martian Child (didn't appear to be all that great but turned out really wonderful!)

Along came a Spider (Alex Cross Movie with Morgan Freeman)

I am Legend

Seven (Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman)

I know a ton more, but I can't list them all.

We use Blockbuster Online, which gives you the same mail it to your home features, but on top of it, you can return the mailed video to the store if you want and get a free movie rental in-store, while you wait for your next one to come in the mail. We have really liked this option.

I should do that. We never go to the movies and I see trailers on TV and think, "I want to rent that when it comes out on DVD." Haven't actually gone to a Blockbuster in years so I'm really back-logged on movies I wanted to see.

I LOVE NetFlix...turn around time is fantastic, and as you rate movies they suggest others you might like...I've seen some films I never would have picked from the list myself, that we have all really enjoyed.

Get it NOW!!!

(you really will enjoy this service if you watch many movies:howdy:)
Another benefit is how easy it is to "pause" your membership. After watching a movie almost every night, we finally ran out of interesting flix and discontinued the service. We're back into it again and the whole process is quite simple. The mail service is unbelievably fast.

We just got off a "pause" on our Blockbuster account, too. We go through periods where things are so busy we just don't have time for that many movies, so we put it on hold. I think you can do it for up to 3 months at a time.

The other thing we have been doing is putting a movie in our "queue" when we see it advertised for the theaters, so that we don't forget it later. It will move automatically onto the active list as soon as it becomes available. Otherwise I forget 4 months later what it was that I had seen advertised that I wanted to see.

I like NetFlix. Basic plan, $5 a month, 2 movies/mo. Yo get to watch movies you wouldn't otherwise rent or buy because it's so cheap. I'm watching Journey to the Center of the Earth as we write....

How long does it take to download to your computer? Is it the same quality you would get from a DVD or is the resolution lower? Do you stream it to your TV?

Sorry for all the questions, but that sounds like an interesting feature. Thanks!

It streams to Windows Media Player after you install a DRM Codec

You download a one time program to handle the procedure and then you immediately watch the movie. It's just like watching a DVD with pause, fast forward, etc. We canceled our account in October and when I re-joined last week, it advised me that I hadn't finished watching "Death Wish". It picked up right where it was in October.

That's awesome. It also says on the link you gave that you can get a "Netflix ready" component to hook to your TV to stream movies directly to your TV. Might be worth looking into when we finish the theater room. Hmmm....

Thanks for the info!

3 hours away. Being the IT geek I am, I would have done remote control of his PC, but it requires that he do some things to allow me in. THAT ain't gonna happen.

I had the wife install VNC on the MIL's PC over Thanksgiving when she was up there so I could do updates ... UGH VNC sucks over 38k dialup
