I have just ruined my son's life....

:duh: Some weirdo was chatting him up online while playing Medal of Honor online and he couldn't grasp the fact that he may very well be a freak azz pedophile rather than a teenage boy (as he proclaimed to be). I hate the fact that my kids are so trusting. This "boy" was asking way too many adult related questions. None sexual, but enough to lead you to think this individual was an adult, and not a teenager.

It really pisses me off that we, as humans, birth children that require a minimum of 18 years of head smacking and ass beatings. :duh: Why couldn't I have been born a Gazelle. :drama: :bawl:

They flat don't friggin' get it, do they? :banghead: This is why the computer stays on the main floor where someone is passing by every few minutes - I know damn well that if they had privacy while they were surfing, suddenly some murderer would show up on my doorstep because one of the girls had invited them over.

I suppose the REAL dilemma is, he told us of his entire conversation, we told him to stop any further discussions with el interet creepo, now he's ticked that we don't trust him, which isn't the issue, he told us about the discussion, which shows good character. But how do you get a teenager to realize that what you're doing is for their own good? Well, I don't really care if he is okay with it, what I'm trying to get him to realize, is that most online people are not as they appear. They aren't your buddies, they aren't your confidants, and they are most likely mentally unstable psychopaths?

You ain't a kiddin. Both kids would LOVE to have an computer and the internet in their room. Not going to happen. They're way too retarded for any of that.

I suppose I should be happy in the fact that they were discussing politics and my son stated proudly that he was Republican. HOWEVER, where one lives, what one's age is, and what political affiliation he is, do not sound like questions of your average teenage chatter. The guy was asking fairly probing questions, which have nothing to do with online gaming and blowing each other to bits. They were personal and probing, and I was really not comfortable with that at all.

Rename this thread..." I May Have Just Saved My Son's Life"
I wouldn't put it so dramatic. As parent's we're used to saving our children from their own idiocy.

Enjoying life!
And when I came down asking these questions, he immediately closed the chat session. At my perturbations with him doing this I get the "you don't trust me" and the "what's the big deal?"s . Meanwhile, this spanking new computer is now showing signs of hackdom, trojanism, and overall virus-tant!!! ####ing kids!

Teenagers always think they're bulletproof. They have no experience with psychos, so they don't think they really exist.

Put him on the forums one night - he'll run screaming

Let him read the forum for a week. :lmao:

Good on ya for layin' the smack down! Dig up some articles about online pedophile cases and let him read them. He's a smart kid; he'll get it then. :yay:

If you think you'll get problems with Medal of Honor, try the freaks at Warcrack - I mean WarCraft.

Also, do you children have IM? If you get a pack of viruses or interesting history, it could be from links sent to them via IM and email. All my son's friends hate me because I saved their IMs and emails, printed them, and gave them to their parents. :lmao:
