I really want a dog!

I have a pocketbook Maltese. He is wonderful!! I don't even have to walk him (I hate having to walk a dog in the cold months). He goes on a potty pad that I put in a kitty litter box. :huggy:

He's real cool, but he's a little schizo. He freaks out and barks. He has no clue that he's little.

And get that stupid Halloween tu-tu off of him!:smack:

Which breeds are okay for people with allergies? I've read that some dogs are okay but woukld like some options as to which ones are better than others. I was also told that if we get a puppy my daughter will build up a tolerance to it as it gets older. Is this a true statement? We're going to have her tested to confirm that it's a dog allergy and to see if maybe she's out grown it if it was an allergy... I really, really miss having a nice family dog.

But I had an allergy doctor tell me once that Chihuahuas actually helped people to build a resistance to their dog allergies. I actually had a friend confirm this was told to them also. so they bought their son a chi and his dog allergies after a time we un noticeable. Had something to do with the fact that the chi dogs had their own allergies and always had runny eyes. Something about that scenario that helps build the resistance to allergies of affected people. Runny eyes = the monthly shots to build the resistance. :shrug:
Seemed logical.
