I love soup but this is my favorite:

2 lbs ground beef (the less fat kind, 90% or whatever it is)
1 head cabbage
1 large bottle of spicy V8
1 medium sweet onion
half a bag of frozen corn
1 TBSP beef flavored Better Than Bouillon

  1. Brown the ground beef with chopped onion in your soup pot, add a few shakes of W-sauce and the Better Than Bouillon to flavor the meat while it's cooking.
  2. Core the cabbage and cut it up into hearty shreds. Not coleslaw thin or it will disintegrate.
  3. Throw the cabbage in with the ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is soft.
  4. Add the V8 and the corn.
  5. Salt and pepper as you see fit, I typically add a bunch of shakes of hot sauce.
  6. Heat until bubbling hot and the corn is cooked.

That's it. Best soup EVER!

W-sauce = Worcestershire?

That sounds real good. :yay:

Here's another real quick and simple soup, kind of oriental.

24 oz of vegetable or chicken stock into a large saucepan. Add 1 teaspoon each of lite soy sauce and sesame oil. I like using toasted sesame oil. Add a bunch of frozen potstickers (different varieties in the freezer case in Giant). Bring to a full boil then down to a low boil for about 10 minutes. Ladle into a bowl, garnish with fresh chive (green onion).

Sort of a makeshift wonton soup - I would absolutely make that. :yay:

Not really a soup unless you add more liquid but easy to make and quite delicious - stolen from RoseRed's momma!

Cowboy Stew

-----------------------------------------------------------------

1 lb. bacon, fried crispy, crumbled & set aside
1 - 1 1/2 lb. hamburger, cooked up in pot, drained
1 small onion & 2-3 cloves garlic, chopped and sauteed in pot
1 bell pepper sauteed (I don't use it)
2 large cans of whole peeled tomatoes
2 cans corn
2 cans kidney beans
2 large potatoes, cubed
chili powder to taste

Let cook until potatoes are done. Top with crumbled bacon and serve.

I think I am going to make this tonight and see how the family likes it.

That chit is GOOD. She hooked me up with the recipe after I scarfed three bowls of it at RR's house that time. I omit the green pepper as well because I burp them up for days. :geek:

People were fighting over it. :boxing: I was the last to get any and had to scrape the bottom of the pot to even get a SMALL bowl of it.

I skip the bell pepper, too and add a can or two of green beans. :yum:

Trust me, they will love it. :yay:
