I wonder if the SMIBland Diesel Douches know about this.

As Steve says in his video, at what point does the Government go after the customers of those Diesel tune places? Don't think it won't happen; California proved that years ago. Once they had gas-powered vehicles under control, they started going after diesels (except the ones from Mexico) and motorcycles. After that, they started going after restaurants, and now, you can't build a new house in California that contains a fireplace.

The Feds fined the chit out of Harley Davidson for supporting their dealer upgrades to "Screaming Eagle" kits like my wife's dyna has. And yep..the damned bike is a rocket.

Harley sold a unit called the Power commander, it was outlawed.

There was a guy in St. Mary's who tuned Diesels but he saw the handwriting on the wall and closed down. It's amazing the power these engines will make without being choked by EPA rules. The rules by the way hurt fuel mileage.;

Something on my Jetta turbo/exhaust sprung a leak so now I'm rolling coal at even the slightest acceleration. It's put an end to tailgaters and my MPG went from 42 to 45. Win, win! :yay:

I had a power commander on my Dyna...while it was in for a tuneup, the power commander "sprouted legs" and walked off. To say I'd never do business with All American again would be an understatement.

Ft. Washington did all the "Stage III" upgrades to my wife's dyna as well as the final tuning. We lost the tuner interface box and instructions in our house fire, but had never had cause to use it anyway.

Do you ever wonder who's bike that Power Commander is on now?

Ya know at 80 I am probably riding my last bike, but I have had Harley's for years and I loved them all, but Harley has always made bikes that needed to have alterations to get real power out of them. I have spent a lot of money over the years to get more power out of the Harley, if I were in the market for a new bike, I would be looking awful hard at an Indian. Their motorcycles have power right out of the door, their engine puts out the power , but damn ,the motor sure looks ugly. I will keep the one I have now to the end.

After I wrecked the Dyna, my financial advisor, a long-time Harley guy, recommended an Indian. He has one, and really likes it. I've also thought about a Triumph Bobber.

Some of the newest Harley engines are huge displacement and real powerhouses compared to the "old days". That said, my 2001 88 ci dresser is probably the last bike I'll ever own. Reliable...comfy..suitably noisy...safely slow...LOL... I've got custom cams, a Mikuni carb, and Samson true-duals...so the pig probably makes 84 HP... My wife's dyna with the Stage III Screaming Eagle 110 package dynoed at 110 HP and nearly same number for torque. She likes to go fast.

They may indeed be powerhouses compared to the older Harleys, but compared to the Indian, they are weak. As for Dirt Trackers. they aren't even in the running.

I'd go with the Indian.
My paternal grandfather was on the crew that upgraded the HVAC systems for the offices in the old Indian plant in Springfield, MA. a little after WW2.
The building has been preserved and renovated as an apartment complex.

It was actually built in 1883 as the home of the Bullard Repeating Arms Company,

Back in the early 80s, two brothers who were good friend of mine were HD factory sponsored on the their dirt track 750s. I wanted one...almost bought a Honda "clone" but ended up walking out of the showroom with a brand new yamaha 550 Vision instead. Too good of a deal to pass on...

Honda went on the dirt track with a motorcycle designed to kick Harley's ass. They hired Bubba Shobert to ride it, He was good , damned good He won a lot of races for Honda before a show-off ran him down and crippled him, . Honda won and then left, right now Kawasaki id running with a dirt Ninja Triumph is running and Indian is beating them all.

Were I looking for a cruiser type, the Indian Scout is awesome. But this thing has crossed my mind as a second "commuter bike". But they dont sell them here..... 650 thumper based on the old Funduro engine, which was an Aprilia motor customized by the to BMWs specs.

Loads of fun, at hog-dayzs in Marion a few weeks ago I had the 2010 96 FX dyno'ed. It quit producing at 104 HP, its fun to outrun the 117 baggers.

Lol. Riders on XR-750s have won 29 of the 37 AMA Grand National Championships from 1972 to 2008 inclusive. Besides having more wins than any other bike in AMA racing, it has been called the "most successful race bike of all time", and has a claim to have more wins than any other racing motorcycle in history.

You be sure to post when Indian has 30 AMA Grand National Championships under its belt.

Dont see many old flat track Indians at the races out here, but you sure see plenty of new to 50+ year old Harleys on the dirt.
